I was able to install the module on my own. Took about two hours. Everything works perfectly. I watched the installation videos several times and used the map for the plugs. Was able to connect my phone right away. So happy with this setup! Thank you!
So i'm writing the review after using a bit the unit, also in some longer trips and i can only say that it's flawless!!
Basically the installing is quite difficult, but Carputech support helps a lot with it. They helped me with solving some problems during and after installing the unit! Response time for my messages was really quick and it's a big plus! So i can hosetly say that Carputech support is amazing!
The unit works very well (but not without some minor issues), the screen is incredibly responsive, no lags, and android auto works like a charm! Music quality is good, navigating using buttons on steering wheel works perfectly, unit starts very quickly it's almost hard to notice! Many personalisation options so everyone can find something for themselves.
I highly recommend this one!
Easy installation! Took about an hour to do! I love the set up! I kept all my normal controls. Back up camera, steering wheel controls, etc. this is such a great product!
I installed this on my 2014 Audi A5 and I’m blown away by how good it looks and performs. The screen is crystal clear and fits the interior perfectly. CarPlay run smoothly, and the interface is intuitive and fast. The upgrade brought my car’s tech into 2025. Installation was not easy so I had to take it to the audio guys to install it for me which added an extra cost. I still highly recommend if you want a serious tech upgrade without losing that Audi aesthetic.
Install was easy! The customer service was top notch! I was happy with the response time. And they were very helpful. I love the OEM feel. I wish I knew about this a long time ago. It would have been the first thing I did to the car. I posted it on my instagram and I had several people reach out! Definitely recommend
My son has a 2017 Audi A3 with the most basic MMI in it (see pics attached). The system is called MIB and a lot of posts on reddit say it's almost impossible for CarPlay to work with that system. They say you need to replace a ton of modules and parts in the dash. UNTRUE with this system!
I was worried nothing would work but I contacted carputech through their chat panel on this website. Their support was Amazing! They told me what to check, then asked for a bunch of photos of the car's settings to make sure they shipped out exactly the right unit.
The unit itself works better than the built-in CarPlay in my wife's GMC Yukon Denali. The wireless connection is super fast, and there are settings for brightness, contrast and EQ. A lot of other CarPlay boxes lose Bass when you install them but with this one everything is adjustable.
All the steering wheel buttons work but with Siri you need to either say Hey Siri or hold the car button on the MMI for a quick second.
Carputech for the win. It's so nice for a new driver to have Waze and other apps right on the dash.
I had a few email exchanges with Carputech. They answered all my questions very quick. I’llThe system went in seamlessly. The instructions were clear. The fit and finish of the unit and mounting adapter were top notch. The Linux system starts up super quick.
Worked amazing! Didn't have the correct video for my specific car so I had to figure things out myself but overall it works great!

I bought it as an upgrade kit for my daughter's car and she loves it. It also costs me $200 to have a friend mechanic installed it in one day and it works great according to my daughter.
I've been wanting to add Android Auto to my LR4 for years, to have a more modern feel. There are a lot of other modules out there, super cheap ones on Amazon and Ebay, I searched several Land Rover forums and Facebook pages and found that a lot of folks over in the UK had success with the Carputech unit so that's why I purchased it. It was twice the price of the cheaper units, but it does the job! Took me about 2 hrs to install. I took my time to not break any of the plastic dash trim pieces. Overall, very pleased! Thank you!
Like most men I only glanced over the installation instructions. So after the install when it didn’t work well, I contacted customer service via email which turned into close to 30 emails back and forth. Customer service was excellent in walking me through what I didn’t do and it works great!

I recently installed the Carputech Android player in my Audi RS6 C6 2008, and while I was very skeptical going in, this was one of THE best aftermarket units I've ever seen. First of all, the support and help from Carputect, including taking a phone call from me during the install, is amazing and super helpful. The unit itself is beautiful to start with, great resolution and layout, and such an amazing integration with the original car functions, button, rotary dial and everything. Basically ALL the button and controls in the car work seamlessly with the Carputech unit. Not only that, they have retained a 100% identical view of the original UI and show this when you get to the car function. In addition to everything the original system supported, the Carputech unit supports so much more, like a SIM card, car speed and a few other readings, a USB slot and much more.
The unit comes with a full replacement dash cover, which was also very easily put in with the original gauges, buttons and everything else perfectly set up like in the original.
Highly recommended!!
